Sum people strive to raise awareness of the fantastic work Mind charity do by reaching new heights.
We are delighted to be undertaking the National three peaks challenge on 18/07/2025 in the aim of raising awareness and donations to the Mind Community.
Mind are a mental health charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.
The three peak challenge involves climbing the 3 largest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales
- Ben Nevis (1,345m)
- Scafell Pike (978m)
- Snowdon (1,085m)
In keeping with the challenge we aim to complete this in under 24hrs including travel. The total walking distance is approximately 23 miles, with a total ascent of around 3,064 meters.
GoFundMeThe first person to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge was Dr. Charles Hadfield, along with Mr. W. N. Pape and their driver Mr. H. P. Cain. They achieved this feat in 1926, completing the challenge within 23 hours.
Here’s a quote from Dr. Hadfield about the challenge:
We conceived it as a ‘joy joke,’ but it turned out to be an incredible adventure that tested our endurance and spirit.
